COLORADO SPRINGS – If you’ve ever been to a scientific or professional conference, you know exactly why you need this workshop. Even award-winning researchers and best-selling authors are dry and uninteresting on stage, flipping through the same tired powerpoint with blue backgrounds because someone in the 90’s said it was easier on the eyes. Is that the best we can do in science communication?
Our hypothesis is that we can be better at communicating with the public – through comedy.
In three Saturday workshops you can learn the basics of comedy writing, using a microphone, winning over an audience, and most importantly – how to be funny and engaging on stage! We are taking signups for our first class of scientist/comedians beginning in December, with a public showcase the first week of January.
COLORADO SPRINGS – Saturdays from 5-6:30 pm. December 5th, 12th, and 19th.
The C-Springs workshop will be led by Chris Cesar – Professional comedian who teaches a college course on stand-up comedy writing and performance.
