Science Riot is the first science outreach program in the country to turn scientists into engaging speakers through immersive training in comedy writing and performance. The resulting showcase is an evening of laughter, learning, and libations where real-life scientists deliver their short comedy talks directly to real life humans.
Scientists and professionals interested in a daring public speaking training program can register now for Science Riot Portland!
Science Riot is offering free science communication workshops with immersive training in “late-night” stand-up comedy writing and performance. The workshops are spread over three weeks, culminating in a showcase event where you will deliver your talk live on stage to a crowd of real-life people!
STEM professionals (all careers welcome) will undergo 4.5 hours of hands-on training with our comedians to hone a 5-7 minute comedy talk about a scientific topic. Even if you think your topic is mind-numbingly dull, we will help you find the humor and a way to connect with public audiences.
